Timaru needs a Mayor with passion, drive and the ability to get things done.
Every dollar paid in rates comes out of the pockets of businesses and families. I will deliver better value for money by cutting council waste, use of consultants, and delivering the right services within budget. Locals will also be the first port of call.
My door will be open. I will ensure a culture change so there is a focus on listening and working with the community and its needs. Less red tape and better planning, leading to a better result. A more transparent council.
Less talk and more action. Elected members need to be courageous and make decisions to keep the district moving forward and make it a vibrant, attractive option for those looking for somewhere new to live.
I am not frightened of challenging the Central Government and other agencies, including continuing to oppose Three Waters. With many changes coming to local government, a strong voice is needed now more than ever.
